Kaiken Mai 2018

Attractive, ruby-red colour, with an extraordinary concentration of fruit, the wine possesses aromas of redcurrant, black cherry, and a hint of tobacco. A wine with big body, it's rounded and velvety on the palate, with smooth tannins. A hint of vanilla and toast is followed by a long, smooth finish. A very elegant wine. 14.5% ABV.

The summer and autumn were rather dry, which meant a healthy harvest. Yields were lower than average which meant, together with average temperatures a little higher than normal, ripening was pushed up. The 2018 wines are concentrated, with a fresh style, good acidity, and excellent fruit and floral expression.
