Chalk Hill Estate Bottled Red 2017

Chalk Hill 2017 Estate Red opens with bold and intense aromas of blackberry, anise, tobacco leaf and dark chocolate. The palate is rich and savoury with nuances of vanilla, spice and dark fruit. Though firm, the tannins are rounded by a balanced acidity and a long and smooth finish. 15.5% ABV.

Opaque purple-black in colour, the 2017 Estate Red is a blend of 49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Malbec and 11% Petit Verdot. It offers slowly unfurling aromas of cassis and black plums with notions of graphite, clay, mint chocolate and cigars. The full-bodied palate offers minerally fruits with a gently chalky frame and very good freshness to lift the finish. 91 Points Robert Parker.
